Welcome to the Collision Investigation Training Pages
Getting Started as a Collision Investigator The entry point for any career in collision investigation police or civilian is either the City and Guilds (C&G) scheme 3920-06 'Forensic Collision Investigation for Police and Police Staff' or De Montfort University's (DMU) University Continuing Professional Development Certificate (UCPD) in 'Forensic Road Collision Investigation' at Level 4. DMU's course is open to both police and non police. AiTS run both courses, the C&G as a classroom course and the DMU as a distance learning course. Both courses are recognised by The Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators and the Association of Chief Police Officers. Click on the Entry Level Qualifications link on the menu to the left to find out more. Going Forward Although both the C&G and DMU courses allow you to practice as a collision investigator. It doesn't stop there. Continuing Professional Development means that you will undoubtedly go on further courses during your career. DMU and AiTS have launched a range of further courses which, if you follow their path will allow you to gain further Higher Education qualifications. These include;
