Statistics for Collision Investigators

Description
This module is relevant to all collision investigators.  It introduces the concept of statistical analysis and the concept of confidence levels.

Many technical papers read and used by collision investigators in the course of an investigation are subject by their authors to statistical analysis. This module will enable to collision investigator to draw their own conclusions as to the validity of the data and carry out and test the robustness of their own experiments during the course of an investigation.

The module is core for students who have completed the City and Guilds Forensic Collision Investigation course and intend to study the De Montfort University Higher Education programme.  This module is already incorporated in the De Montfort University UCPD at level 4 (2009 on).

Distance learning over 6 weeks via the AiTS VLC

Outcomes
At the conclusion of the module the successful student will be able to;
 Evaluate the theory and practical application of statistical techniques
